Current Openings

Crop Scout – Harriston

Spend your summer getting real, hands on experience inspecting fields to identify weeks, insects, diseases, and monitor crop health. If you’re passionate about agronomy, then you should fit right in at North Wellington Co-op. We’re member owned co-operatives dedicated to providing outstanding products and services in our communities. In addition to our farm and garden retail stores, we provide products, services and expertise in agronomy, energy, and feed. Furthermore, we believe that success is built on teamwork, outstanding customer service, and innovation.

As our Summer Crop Scout, proudly represent North Wellington Co-op on the roads and in our grower’s fields. Use integrated pest management (IPM) techniques, satellite imagery and GPS technology to document notes from the field that include crop staging, weeds, insects and diseases. Assists with additional agricultural retail operational duties including soil sampling, product delivery and field signing. All training required to be successful in the role will be provided.

Truck Driver/Operator – Harriston

North Wellington Co-op has an opening for Truck Driver/Operator in Harriston. Under the direction of the Branch Manager or General Manager, the Truck Driver/Operator is the primary operator, driver, and applicator of specialized facility equipment. Familiar with most facets of the operation and capable of running most equipment inside and outside the facility with limited supervision.

Energy Driver – Harriston

NWC is currently seeking an Energy Driver to join our team in Harriston.

The Energy Driver position is generally filled by a seasonal driver in a part-time capacity or a driver working seasonally between two divisions. The Energy Driver may also be filled by drivers in training. Under the direction of the Energy Manager, the Energy Driver operates petroleum and propane trucks with single or tandem axle configuration for delivery and/or pick-up over designated routes, following specified time schedules. The Energy Driver may be cross-trained to drive propane and petroleum trucks. Responsible for the safe operation of an assigned motor vehicle; practicing non-aggressive defensive driving techniques in accordance with standards, regulations and laws pertaining to transportation. Class “AZ” or “DZ” driver’s license required as well as obtaining a “Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification” for transporting hazardous products or dangerous goods. The Energy Driver works with little need for guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions. Interested candidates are asked to forward their resume in confidence to:
