Summer Crop Scout

What do you have planned for the summer?

Spend your summer getting real, hands on experience inspecting fields to identify weeks, insects, diseases, and monitor crop health. If you’re passionate about agronomy, then you should fit right in at North Wellington Co-op or Huron Bay Co-op. We’re member owned co-operatives dedicated to providing outstanding products and services in our communities. In addition to our farm and garden retail stores, we provide products, services and expertise in agronomy, energy, and feed. Furthermore, we believe that success is built on teamwork, outstanding customer service, and innovation.

As our Summer Crop Scout, proudly represent North Wellington Co-op or Huron Bay Co-op on the roads and in our grower’s fields. Use integrated pest management (IPM) techniques, satellite imagery and GPS technology to document notes from the field that include crop staging, weeds, insects and diseases. Assists with additional agricultural retail operational duties including soil sampling, product delivery and field signing. All training required to be successful in the role will be provided.

The Summer Crop Scout position is open in Belgrave, Dundalk, Harriston or Walkerton. If you’re a student returning to school in the fall of 2020, comfortable with technology, have a willingness to learn and are interested in spending your summer with us, please send us your resume before January 6, 2020.

Livestock Account Manager

North Wellington Co-op is currently seeking a Livestock Account Manager. This position will work out of our Harriston location and will perform a consultative sales and service function to the area producers including management solutions, sales, ration balancing, and product logistics to achieve maximum sales profitability and growth, within an assigned territory.
The successful candidate will possess a background in agriculture, specifically in animal health and feed, as well as the ability to provide valuable insight and recommendations to customers with small ruminants, equine, and beef feed requirements. Operations Supervisor

North Wellington Co-op is looking for an Operations Supervisor to work out of our Harriston location.

This role will provide supervision to Operations staff and assist in various Operations activities, including fertilizer blending and storage, seed and chemical warehousing, distribution and custom services. A valid DZ driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Experience in a leadership role and with custom application equipment would be beneficial.
